We initially chose the Mediterranean cruise on Norwegian Epic for the itinerary. We could board in Barcelona, end the tour in Marseilles. Worked for us because we wanted to take the train to Paris after the cruise. That didnt work out like we had planned.
Norwegian cancelled our booking. They had changed the itinerary and replaced Marseilles with Majorca, so our train trip became an issue. Further, they claimed they emailed me to ask if we still wanted the cruise, but the definitely did not...nothing in my in-box, spam, trash, and when I asked for proof they emailed they couldn't produce any. THAT SAID, they (after a bit of finagling on our part) made up for their error. They re-booked our passage, didnt charge us for the extra night on board that we needed to get to Barcelona, and gave us an on-board credit to make up for the extra cost of the train from Barcelona instead of Marseilles.
Now to the ship - nice, modern in common areas. Decent entertainment, except for Priscilla Queen of the Desert which was terrible. Food...fine in main dining rooms, but we had two really lackluster dinners in the main buffet. Breakfasts were good, as was the seafood night, but Latin and Asian dinners were really lousy. Dinner in the Spiegle Tent for the Cirque performance was okay, but they had issues with service. Most people literally had finished their dessert before our entrees were served, and it took so long to get the food that the minute we were served the lights went out for the show. Made it really hard to see so we could scrape off the sauce, which was waaayyyy too peppery.
Didn't like the cabin. Bathroom has little privacy, beds dont work well as twins, curved couch isnt comfortable. Pillows are awful and lumpy.
