Sail Date: Apr 2017
Cabin: Aqua Class

We decided to give Celebrity a try after hearing rave reviews from family and friends. We set sail on April 22, 2017 out of San Juan Puerto Rico. It was one of the easiest ports to sail out of and we would definitely sail out of this port again. This was my 14th cruise and my husband's 11th. Overall, we really enjoyed this cruise. The service was courteous, prompt and professional. The ship was clean and well appointed despite her age.

We booked an Aqua Class Verandah cabin. I liked using the Persian Garden and spa more than my husband did. It was relaxing and the staff was wonderful. With this booking we were able to eat breakfast and dinner in Blu. While the service was excellent, the meals were not. I found the food to be mostly tasteless of low quality and uninspiring. Since it was the two of us, we sat at a table for 2. Many would like this and normally we would BUT these tables are about 4 inches away from each other. It was awkward when trying to have a conversation and not have the table next to you hear every word. I really didn't enjoy this part and we ate at other venues for an extra cost just to not be there. We enjoyed meals at the buffet in Oceanview Café. We really liked how it was set up with a variety of choices every time you turned the corner. It is a nice break from other lines that just seem to corral people in food stampedes. There were usually places to sit without having to fight the crowd. QSine and Tuscan Grill were outstanding. We liked QSine so well we ate there twice. Such a fun and interesting concept! We had a lot of fun here and loved the food and service. Thank you Leonardo, our fabulous waiter both times. Tuscan Grill was outstand! Some of the best food I have ever had on a cruise!

We aren't into shows and didn't attend any except for the comedian. He was pretty good. We also watched the pianist in café Al Bacio a few times. He was good!

Cabin Review

Aqua Class

Cabin A2

Our cabin Aqua Class, 9040 was a little bit tired but was very clean. Our attendant, Winston is very professional, friendly and accommodating. The daily tapas and iced tea were a nice touch. The bed was hard and uncomfortable but Winston came to the rescue with a mattress pad. It was mostly quiet but we could hear people walking above us and moving furniture at various times as we were below the enclosed pool area.

Port Reviews

King's Wharf

This was a self guided tour and worth the entrance fee. We spent nearly the whole day walking the grounds and snapping pictures. The exhibits were interesting. Just watch out for all of the animal droppings (not sure where the animals were but they certainly left their mark EVERYWHERE) if you walk the ramparts. Snorkel Beach is just around the corner and is a great spot for a drink and some music.
