Harmony of the Seas is an amazing ship... We chose HOTS for our annual ladies cruise because it was brand new and had so many wonderful features and we were not disappointed. We arrived at Port Everglades in the early afternoon and were able to quickly pull up and unload our luggage with a porter. Finding parking was a breeze as there is lot directly across from the terminal and it was not full. We made it through the check in process in about 20 minutes and were on the way. Once on board we were so impressed by the open and airy feeling throughout the ship. Our trip was amazing and we could not imagine sailing on a smaller ship in the future. Here are some highlights of what we experienced.
The main dining room seating was a little confusing because we thought we booked a traditional dining time, but were placed in my time dining. We got to dinner the first night and thought we had a 6pm seating because it was on our sea pass, but we found out we needed to make reservations nightly. We ate in the Silk dinning room which was beautiful and although we didn't have the same servers each night, they were all very attentive and the service was outstanding. We were concerned about the food as other reviewers had said it was not that good, but we found our experience to be way above expectation with the quality of the food.
150 Central Park was disappointing in the quality of food. For the cover charge of $45 we expected to have better quality, as the potatoes tasted more like instant. The overall ambiance and service were fine, but the food just did not meet our expectations.
Jamie's Italian was also a little disappointing. Two of our travelers has a complimentary lunch as they booked a central park balcony room. We made our reservations and were told that there was a limited menu for the complimentary lunch and there was a cover charge of $29 for our other travelers. Again the overall ambiance was great and it was a nice change for lunch. The service was slower than we expected as it took over two hours for lunch. Since we had people who were playing full price for lunch we were able to have access to a full menu allowing everyone to taste various items. The quality of the food was that of an olive garden.
The entertainment on HOTS is OUTSTANDING and we loved everything we did. It's important to make reservations well in advance of your trip to really enjoy the offerings. We saw Grease and loved every moment of it. The Fine Line at the Aqua Theater was by far one of the best shows I have ever seen. It was a little confusing at first as there is a lot of things happening, but WOW what a show. We were all in agreement that Columbus was the best show on board. It was original, funny and unique and we found ourselves still talking about the next day.
There is so much to do on board for all ages that it's perfect for anyone. We enjoyed various activities such as The Ultimate Abyss, but a word of warning would be to wear pants. We loved the zip lining over the boardwalk and watching the flow riders. We tried out the waterslides on a day in port so it was very quite. If you like to wear a shirt over your suit at the pool or a long sleeve rash guard shirt you will not do well on the slides. We booked the Escape the Rubicon and had a BLAST!!! We were a small team of 7 people and our host was great. We needed some help and he jumped right in and provided some hints. It was one of the best escape rooms I have done and we did get out with about two minutes left.
We loved our trip and look forward to planning more trips on HOTS in the future as we did not even get to see all the things this ship has to offer.
The cabin was very clean and modern. We loved having two closets and lots of drawers for storage. The cabin seemed much larger than we thought it would be and the bathroom was spacious as well. Our balcony was large enough for four adults to enjoy breakfast or just getting some sun.
We had been here before and had great experiences at Atlantis and Greycliff, but elected to enjoy the ship.
We loved Caribbean Cooks! This was a great way to learn more about the island and to try some very yummy foods. Out host started with a tour of the plantation house which was wonderful and informative. We were escorted to another room where the seating was elevated so we could see what our chef was preparing. Our chef walked us through the steps as she prepared dishes for us to try, she was very friendly and answered questions. The food was great and we got to take the recipes home with us to try.View All 19 Culinary Tour Reviews
Beautiful place, but wanted to enjoy the ship.
