Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We choose this cruise because of the awesome itinerary. The ports did not disappoint. Malta, Mallorca, Florence and Barcelona were all awesome! We spent 3 nights in Venice before the cruise and while the weather was cool and windy we loved Venice.

We really liked the size of the cruise ship and our balcony stateroom was roomy enough with lots of storage. The ship is older, but kept in good shape.

We were really disappointed in how many cutbacks have occurred with Royal Caribbean since our last cruise with them. Some of the things are small- no nightly chocolates, no robes, no pens, etc but others where more obvious. Our cabin attendant was amazing, even though she had 18 staterooms. RCCL decided to save money and got rid of the cabin attendants helpers. So each person still has the same amount of cabins, but have no help. She worked from early in the AM to late in the PM. She was friendly, but overworked. Upon returning to the ship after a long day at port, no hot/cool towels or water were offered at the dock. The food was very average and there was no lobster tail offered, unless you wanted to pay for it. We did the 3 specialty dining options and all were excellent. Our waiter and assistant waiter in the main dining room where both great. We were a group of 16 and had requested 2 tables of 8, were got 1 table for 10 and 1 table for 6. There were many 8 tops around us, but we the seating was never changed. Embarkation was fine, however disembarkation was a nightmare. Everyone was off the ship by 9:30am. Since everyone was rushed off the ship (unless you wanted to pay $$$ to stay later on the ship) the line to get a taxi was a 2 hour wait. I understand wanting to turn the cabin as soon as you can but the entire process had a "you are not on the ship and not our problem anymore" feel to it. Since this was such a port intensive cruise the lack of activities on board was only noticeable on the sea days, so no big deal. The port expert was horrible! All she tried to do is sell you a RCCL excursion.
