Chose this cruise for the ports. Chose this cruise line for the food and perks and for something different. Had a good time onboard. Liked the ability to go to dinner at any time, but missed having the same servers and people at the table. Just two of us on a girls cruise (left the husbands and children at home) and we wanted to eat with other people, but this kind of dining room experience isn't good for sharing tables. Met nice people, had a clean room, good cabin steward and liked the free drinks. We also had free 250 minutes of WiFi with our package, but the WiFi was down for the first 5 days of the cruise. We got T-Mobile data and texting in the ports for free with T-Mobile and took advantage of that. The entertainment was excellent, and it was fun to watch and participate in the games. We even did a painting class on last sea day. So much fun.

We were on our own in Ocho Rios and Key West - which worked out fine.

We did two excursions through NCL. The first was fun with Turtles, Turtles and more Turtles in Grand Cayman. That place was fine, but their food is really expensive. In Cozumel, we did the Speed Boats and Snorkeling. We almost died on that one. We thought we would each have a speed boat to drive, and then go to a beach to snorkel, have lunch and enjoy the beach. This was an afternoon event for 4 hours. We were picked up at the port on time, but when we got to Barracuda Beach, we waited about an hour before they started the safety training and then got all the stuff to get on the boats. We shared boats with one other person, which turned out to be fine, but instead of going no more than 20 miles/hour, they raced really fast until they finally had us drop out of the boats that were tied to each other by this time, and we drift snorkeled parallel to the hotel beaches (meaning - not much to see of a reef or fish) and then we were expected to grab onto our boats until they could bring a ladder for us to climb up into the boat. They had one ladder. The current was so strong that a lot of us missed our boats and I grabbed onto the rope between my boat and the one behind me. If I had let go I would have been dragged under the boat or into the propeller (which was up and not on - but sharp). Finally someone helped me to get against the current to the ladder. My friend had an even more horrible experience. When we got back to the beach, there was very little time to eat and no enjoying the beach, and the water is filthy at Barracuda Beach, probably due to the churning up from the speed boats. Also, where we were dropped off for the snorkeling, there were large speed boats going around us and it was really dangerous as to how close they were. We both have snorkeled a lot in our lives and we both though we could have died. We did tell the shore excursion desk, but they didn't really care. We wrote to NCL, and they didn't really care either. That was the only thing we didn't like. So, don't go on that excursion. Too expensive for what you get and too dangerous. Otherwise, a great cruise.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

The cabin was clean, small and always kept nice by the cabin steward. Liked having the balcony. We are not smokers, and someone was smoking all the time on a balcony a couple of doors down, which they are not supposed to do. It wasn't very pleasant, but, that's the only thing that happened.

Port Reviews

Ocho Rios

We did an excursion on our own, not through NCL. We went to a 5 star all inclusive hotel that charged $90 for the day with all inclusive drinks and food, pool and beach. Very nice. The shuttle guy forgot to pick us up at end of day, so we got reimbursed later for the taxi from the company we booked it through.
