Our 3rd cruise with Thompson and although we got fed up during 6 sea days we enjoyed ourselves. Food was good and hot and plentiful. Service throughout the ship was excellent with all staff smiling at all times. Drinks package was good. But entertainment? The team doing the quizzes etc were good but not as good as on the Majesty. But the theatre shows were awful. I have never seen as many people walk out if shows as happened here. They seem to be changing the shows to attract a younger crowd but the customers on this cruise sat open mouthed and only gave a smattering of applause. One night was called "legends". This consisted of playing videos of dead stars such as John Lennon singing Imagine while the shoe team danced around on stage. In the whole show the team only sang about 3 songs. It was dreadful and frankly embarrassing. Whoever at Thomson came up with these ideas for shows should be made to sit in the theatre and watch the audience reaction and see how many people walk out, not just on one night but night after night. Thomson use to lead the way in entertainment but not any more. I can guarantee that mine won't be the only review to point this out. Overall a good cruise but let down badly by the new shows. One more point is we were told that a member of the Temptations was going to be on board and be performing but he never showed and there was no explanation. Finally this was described as a "comedy cruise" . we had a comedian for one night in week one and a singer/ comic for one night in week two. Hardly a "comedy cruise".

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe balcony

Nice cabin. Spacious but with the dreaded shower curtain. Plenty of storage space.

There was plenty to do on the ship with very interesting guest speakers and dance classes, golf lessons, choir and ukulele lessons. Shuffleboard and crazy golf and the wall on top deck.
