My sister and I (both in our late 50's) booked this first time experience on RC's mega Ship Oasis because of the great deal we were able to get on our ocean view Balcony room. We have cruised on RC as well as other lines in the past and this was going to be a good opportunity to see how the smaller ships compared to this Oasis class ship. We weren't disappointed.

Embarkation and disembarkation were both very smooth. From the time we entered the terminal until we were sitting eating lunch at the Park Café in Central Park . . . it only took a total of 16 minutes. We're both Gold card RC members and although we didn't have to wait in the long 1st time cruiser lines, I was definitely surprised as to how fast the process went. We used the valet service to have our large luggage taken off the ship and with just doing self assist and walking off with one carry on each and our over the shoulder bags . . . we were through customs and off the ship and out to our Radisson at the Port Shuttle within 15 to 20 minutes. Again, very smooth . . .

Our ocean view balcony room was located on the 12th deck and the view was fantastic. The highest floor I've ever had a balcony room on was the 10th, so it was nice being a bit higher. The Stateroom was comparable in size to other lines that we have been on. I liked having shower doors over a shower curtain, which inevitably leaves water all over the bathroom floor no matter how careful you are.

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D4

Nice ocean view balcony room. Pretty similar to what I've had on other lines. Loved that there were glass shower doors and not a shower curtain. Shower curtains are annoying because they leak water outside the shower no matter how careful you are. Our room steward, Simone, was very attentive and always had a smile on her face. On the second morning, my sister cut her hand on a piece of the metal door frame while putting a room service tray outside our door, and Simone supplied her with bandaids for the entire week. She always asked how her hand was doing and if she needed anything. I would definitely choose this type of room again.

Port Reviews

Falmouth

Pretty much just got off ship and walked around the many shops this port has to offer. Picked up some nice souvenirs and went back on the ship to have lucnh at Park Cafe and go to the pool while it wasn't so crowded.
