It has been a while since I posted a review. After well over 30+ cruises it gets a bit tiresome , but I just did a 7 day cruise from Miami on the Norwegian Escape and the experience deserved the effort. We are diamond plus members on Royal Caribbean and the perks are also available on Celebrity, so we do most of our cruising on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. However we have done Holland America, Princess and Carnival , all a number of times, including three transatlantics, (one on RCI, one on HAL and one on the Celebrity Equinox, which is a wonderful ship and a very well run ship).

The Escape is one of the mega ships like RCI’s Oasis and Allure of the Seas. These cater extensively to families and are enormous. One time on the Oasis several years ago was enough for us just for the experience. In some ways it lost the feeling of a cruise because it feels like you are hundreds of feet above the Ocean..i at least like to be closer to the water from time to time so I know I am at sea. There is no promenade deck on the Oasis on a lower deck to stroll around.

But I had to try the Escape because those outdoor specialty restaurants circumnavigating the 8th deck for al fresco dining at sea intrigued me, and because they had a promenade deck on 7, and because I got an incredible last minute deal, discovering and booking it 3 days before departure. Also, I was able to get a flight from Reagan National for a reasonable price, although I then discovered that American Airlines upcharges for the seat, and most everything else including oxygen.

St. Thomas

When we were standing in line on the per, the excursion staff were circulating a waiver of all liability by the excursion company and the ship. This is overreaching and wrongful behavior. Exculpatory clauses presented after the xcursion is booked and you are waiting in line, when there is no alternative, have not been enforced in some circumstances. but it will cost you $4000-5000 to oppose a motion to dismiss your complaint if you are injured due to negligence, which is the first thing the tour operator and the cruise line will file--otherwise they wouldnt have you sign such a thing I specifically wrote I do not waive liability for (misconduct or negligence).

Tortola

Tortola is a beautiful island and the secluded beach was beautiful ; bay was crystal clear to bottom

Nassau

just walked around and shopped, been there so many times
