I chose this cruise because a group of friends were already booked on it. On reflection I should have chosen a cruise which did not fall within school holidays as there were a lot of unsupervised 'tweens' having a great time. Can't fault our Junior suite and glad we chose a larger cabin so we could retire away from the crowds especialy when sailing over a few nights. The staff are all very customer focussed and made meal times a pleasure as did the interesting menus and quality of food. I pre-paid gratuities as I am unfamilar with tipping and felt this was easier however I was stung by having an expensive beauty treatment only to find, on settling my account at the end of the cruise, that it incurred a 18% auto gratuity. With $AU to $US roughly 33% this meant that I paid nearly 50% more for the treatment than I would have in Australia. I think that hurt more than Restylane injections! I'd frown if I could!! So, my warning would be, when a beauty treatment is quoted make sure you ask what the cost is with the 'auto-gratutity'. Unlike Australia's Goods & Services tax it's not quoted within the price, it's up to you to add it on.
The cabin was very nice with a large walk in wardrobe where I could lay/hang everything. I really appreciated the extra space when wanting to get away from crowds and when not feeling great when in big seas, My friends had regular staterooms which were still very nice but without extra seating space. My Room steward was on the ball and discreetly made up the cabin whilst i was at breakfast and had the bed laid down whilst at dinner, Any requests were actioned quickly and nothing was too much trouble.
