I really appreciated the meet that CruiseCritic set up that was "official" and wish there was a way to encourage more people to actually SHOW UP for it. With Cruise Critic we got to meet the Captain and crew, there were snacks and drinks, a comfortable venue to socialize without the press of other people wanting to ask them questions so it was great.

This was our first time with a Balcony room, and last, if you are not prepared to hear people slamming the doors (they are heavy but not THAT heavy) then ready yourself if you go the balcony route. Honestly I'm hoping that it was just the time of year, we discovered that there were a lot of "Spring Break" families and moved our next trip up to hopefully avoid that.

We loved the ports, if you go to Amber Cove check out "LA CASA EN LA PLAYA - A SELECT RETREAT" Gelen and her staff were amazing on a day that was too rough weather wise to really do much. They went above and beyond to give everyone an amazing visit, they don't overbook, and have everything on hand that we could have asked for.

Spa Balcony

While we loved that idea of a balcony, the slamming doors has convinced us we don't need one again.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

LA CASA EN LA PLAYA - A SELECT RETREAT... just book it. Gelen and her staff are wonderful and go WAY above and beyond to make sure that you have everything you need. They don't overbook so it truly is a select retreat, just the one bus of patrons and more than enough space to spread out, even the trip (which some people complained about) was entertaining and enjoyable.
