Worst Cruise Ever

Review for the Bahamas Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

First of all the design of the ship is terrible. You have 4,000 people with wheelchairs and strollers trying to walk through the main thoroughfare which is cluttered with a giant table and racks of merchandise. You literally had to fight your way through to get from one end of the ship to the other. There were way too many children, I felt like we were on the Disney cruise. We learned that they overbooked 200 kids. The kids took over the ship after 6. They would run full speed up and down the halls, screaming to each other. I was nearly knocked down the stairs when one flew around the corner and hit me. When I said something he responded, you're not my parents". There weren't any efforts by the crew to contain their antics. There were too many passengers and not enough staff for the amount booked. The food in the main dining room was OK, nothing to brag about. If you wanted anything special you had to pay for it. The nickel and diming has gotten way out of hand. That seems to be the norm on the cruises now. It wasn't that way years ago. The Chops Grille was great. We didn't like Jamie's Italian; expensive for what you received and the menu choices were poor. The restaurant didn't have any ambience, which is what we had expected with a specialty place. Our cabin was great and the steward was excellent. He couldn't do enough for us to make our experience pleasant.

We booked late so we couldn't go ashore on CoCo Cay. If you book late you can't enjoy all the ship has to offer. We did get reservations for the NorthStar however you really didn't need them. The attendant kept letting people on who didn't have reservations and made those of us who had them wait. We never got on the bumper cars, too crowded. The teens and kids had reserved times to use various activities however the people PAYING for the cruise, the ADULTS were never afforded that opportunity. This trip was to celebrate a special occasion and make more cruising memories. They'll be memories, but not like our fond memories about cruising years ago. I think maybe it's time to move onto another cruise line. A NCL ship pulled up to us in port and they had all sorts of ADULT activities., definitely worth looking into. There were many more issues that I can't address here.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

The cabin was the best we ever had on a cruise. Plenty of storage and HANGARS!! The balcony was larger than normal due to the ship's design and was fantastic. The bed was too hard which caused back problems to flare up. Everyone was saying how hard the mattresses were.
