We live in Cypress approximately 2 hours from Galveston and travel with friends 45 minutes from the port so it is really convenient going out of a port so close to home. We have Royal Caribbean before and been to the ports of Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel several times but have not ever been on Liberty of the Seas. Embarking was so easy. Got to the port at 9:30 am, parked the truck in the covered enclosed parking, took the shuttle to the terminal, dropped off the luggage and we were being checked in by 10:15. We were on the ship ready for relaxing by 11:15 am. It really bothers me to see passengers complain about the cruise. This cruise was wonderful with perfect weather, superb service in diningroom and in Windjammer. Liberty's staff always smiling, saying hello and going extra mile to be helpful. Wait staff also helped you find a table. Now for the people coming around trying to sell the restaurant pkgs. Yes they were pretty much coming around a lot on the first couple of days. We just smiled back and said no thank you or we have already booked and they left you alone. It wasn't appropriate to be rude to them. This is their job so don't take it out on them. Everything we ate was good whether it was in Windjammer or diningroom. It all depends on what you like to eat. I gained 5 pounds on this trip so the food agreed with me with no problem. Entertainment was great especially the Rock and Roll show, the comedians, and Quest. Bubba Feathers Country Band was great to dance to. Wished they played more nights. Cant wait to go back on Liberty again. Hated to disembark and go back to reality.

Fantastic cruise, wonderful weather, best cruise ever!

Cabin Review

Cabin 8364
Loved our cabin and location. We were on the starboard side at the beginning of the back section almost close to the middle. Windjammer was 3 floors above us so easy to get to without a lot of walking. Promenade deck down 3 floors, and Boleros and R Bar was 4 floors and 3 floors down. Very convenient. Pools were also only a jog away. Would book this cabin again if it was available. Loved our great steward, Kevin. Always visible, and treated us so well, with clean towels, bed turned down every night, fresh ice in icebucket, towel animals, and gave us 3 extra pillows on our first day we met him. He called us by name every morning and around 6 when we went to dinner. We gave him an extra tip at the end of the cruise because he was just a great steward. Our cabin was clean every morning by 9:30 am.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Cozumel
We always enjoy Cozumel. Since we did Mr.Sanchos last cruise and the cruise before that we did the Cozumel Bar Crawl, we just decided to walk around, shop , and hang out at Margaritaville. We went to Senor Frogs first and it got really annoying with the "shot" girl coming every 5 minutes and insisting you do a shot so we paid our bill and went to Margaritaville. They had a live band there and they played rock n roll so we had us some tequila and some pina coladas and hung out there, Went back to the ship to get ready to eat lobster for formal night.

  • Swimming with Dolphins
So much fun. We had an 11:30 am excursion and the meeting place was just outside the gangway. Not a far walk at all to meet up. We then walked to airconditioned busses to drive about 20 minutes to the resort. Nice restrooms, gift shop and changing rooms, We then loaded in a boat and rode to the lagoon which was about 3 minutes away. There had to be more than a dozen dolphins. The trainers were awesome and the dolphins so friendly. The photographer took pictures and at the end of the hour tour in the water, you went back to the resort area where they had the gift shop and you could look at your pictures. They had package prices if you had a big family. We bought 3 pictures for $45.00 which were good pictures. The good thing about it was it was emailed to a dropbox and you could print as many of the pictures that you wanted. so easy. We then loaded the airconditioned bus and drove the back way through Roatan to the ship. Arrived in plenty of enough time to shop in the port area, get something to eat or hang out at the bar. Prices at the shops were reasonable. They also have free wifi at the restaurants. Just ask for the password and they were so nice to give it to you.
