This cruise offered destinations and ports of call that we had not been to and the price was reasonable. Embarkation went very smoothly.... however disembarkation did not go as well. We were in group 38 (Last group) We were supposed to go down between 10:30-10:45. Something must have happened that caused a delay... we did not leave the waiting area (Platinum Theater) 11:30... we did not get back to our car until 12:30 pm. One hour is not a bad wait time, but the delay did put us behind schedule a bit. (Not a deal breaker, just a slight inconvenience)

We were not as satisfied w/ the quality and taste of the food in the Windjammer. Many dishes such as nachos had an odd flavor... They tasted like they had a Jamaican jerk flavor... not the traditional "Tex Mex" flavor you'd expect in nachos... there were also a few other foods we found the flavor was not what we expected... It was if they were seasoned w/ the wrong spices/flavorings. Dining Room food was great. Overall very satisfied there. There was a few dinner meals when the wait staff were slow with keeping our tea/water glasses full but other than that it was great.

All of our shore excursions were outstanding! The only issue we had was in Cozumel. When returning from Mr. Sancho's beach resort... it was about a 40 min. taxi ride back to the port. The taxi Van broke down about 3 blocks from the port. Our taxi driver told us what happened and asked if we could walk the rest of the way but also expected full payment. We told him that we were not paying full price since he didn't deliver us to our destination. He argued w/ us a bit but we did finally get our fare reduced to $10 vs. $18. The taxi driver also had another taxi pull up along side us and ask if all was ok... and that taxi was empty.. but our driver said all was good, for him to go on... He could have put us in that taxi and sent us the remainder of the way to our destination. I realize this is not Royal Caribbean's fault... it was a local taxi... but wanted to give account of our experience.

Eduardo Garcia was our cabin attendant. I can't say enough about the first class service and treatment he provided! Royal Caribbean is very fortunate to have him as an employee. You can tell he loves his job and does it extremely well! Please recognize his above and beyond efforts for us! We really appreciate him and all that he did to make our stay very pleasant and memorable! He is first class all the way!! There was another cabin attendant named Erik (Sorry I don't know his last name) He was from Roatan and he also has been w/ Royal Caribbean for many years... He was not our attendant, but worked just down the hall from Eduardo.. He was also so fun to talk to and be around. They were both outstanding and made the entire experience that much more fun. We had a great time just with them both!

We also really enjoyed our cruise director, Jeff. He made the trip so fun! We really enjoyed his sense of humor and the great information that was put our over the TV each day. It was very helpful.

My sincerest appreciation for everyone aboard from the captain down to the housekeeping staff, and everyone in between. This is a huge amount of planning, coordination and execution. Thank you and we hope to see you again soon!

Port Reviews

Galveston

Getting on the ship went very smoothly! We had a bit of a delay getting off but was only for about an hour. They did a great job processing that many people in a short time. Thank you!

Cozumel

I highly recommend Mr. Sancho's Beach Resort. Food and drinks all day long for a very reasonable price! And the service was OUTSTANDING!!
