I used to love Carnival. Not the case anymore. This cruise, to put it politely, SUCKED. The service in the Scarlet Restaurant was non-existent. The service of the waiters and waitresses, non-existent. Trying to get a soft drink on this ship is like pulling teeth. No one pays attention to you unless you are an alcoholic. All the fun things happened while everyone was in Port, and the only thing they had to do at night was Seminars on how to improve your posture, and junk like that. I was not on a cruise to be "evaluated" on how I walked, I wanted to have fun. I had none. This cruise line is terrible to say the least. The food is terrible, the drinks were even more terrible and the only thing that made this cruise even worth the trip was the fact that some of the staff were over friendly, and there were a few places on the ship that are quiet and pretty. But again, for the most part, not worth the $3500 we spent . Never again .
The cabin was ok, but the door to the balcony would never close all the way, so we had to listen to the whistling of the wind around the clock. The cabin Steward was nice, and did a good job making the beds. However, there was hair on my toilet and in my tub that stayed there for the length of the cruise. So that told me he never stepped foot in the bathroom to clean it.
The museum burned down two days before the cruise ship arrived, so we got to see a burned down building, that's all.
We rented a car and drove around the city, like dummies. Every time we got out the car for something some local was trying to sell us something or snapping our pictures and trying to get us to buy the pictures. You feel like you are being stalked. They follow you and ask you over and over again to come see their stuff. Very uncomfortable. And whoever said stuff is so cheap in Mexico, lied. Nothing is of good quality and nothing is inexpensive.
