We were just on the Getaway April 16-23 - here is my review! We had cruised before but never with NCL so I wasn't sure what to expect - we loved it!

Arriving at the Port was easy and we went through the initial check in process very easily, no lineups at all. We got there around 11:30am. After having our pictures taken and receiving our pass cards we went upstairs to the General waiting area, where they assign you verbally to a boarding group number. There is nothing officially given to you with your number and I noticed that people didn't always seem to follow that number system and boarded anyway. In any case it was orderly and efficient and we were done and on the ship in a little less than an hour from arrival at the port.

Once on the ship they direct everyone towards the buffet for lunch. I had read on the forums here that O'Sheehans sports bar is open for lunch. We went there and it was pretty much empty! Very relaxing ! Just a word though, that I wasn't aware, even if you have the Unlimited beverage package you will be charged the tax on all of your alcoholic drinks up until you are three Miles out to sea and into International waters. We learned this the hard way!!!!
