we always fly long haul and deciced to try a holiday without flying
and driving from kent to southampton and beginning our holiday within 4 hours seemed like a good idea,
on arival and seeing the Britania was amazing,(a hotel complex on water ,wow,
the ship was massive , it was clean and decorated very nicely, the staff were very nice and very helpful.the cabin was small but very nice.
thats where it ends as a good holiday.
3 days at sea was very tedious and very expensive as all you could do was either drink,
drink prices ok the trouble was we didnt want to drink in the day time,
and we were coffied out by lunchtime
the pool areas were very busy and finding a sun bed was almost impossible
the food in the resturants was sub standered , and the buffet was limited ,you couldnt get a freshly cooked fried egg (just a uniformed rubbery excuse for one .no freshly cooked toast (cold /dry and snapped when applying butter.
my wife wenyt down with NOROVIRUS BEING OR ATTEMPTING TO BE SICK AROUND 20 PLUS TIMES ,We called the doctor who came and charged us almost £60.00,
we were told by the doctor in a very nonchelentl way that this sort of thing was normal and expected on a cruise !!!
this was not told to us by Thomas Cook when booking
we didnt get our room cleaned properly for three days of asking,so we had to stay in a room that smelled of vomit.
my wife was quarinteened to our room for 2 days,
over all very dissapointed.
speakin to other passengers who said and kept repeatin (dont let this p&o cruise put you off because there is a lot better out thereand the the general consensus was that p&o britania was probably not the best choice to start the cruising experience.
It has put us off for life ,.
small but ok
