  3. Allure of the Seas
This is our second cruise with Royal Caribbean (first one was Eastern Caribbean on the Oasis of the Seas). The ship is huge, with great on-board entertainment and shows. There are many food options, and the food is excellent overall. The staff is uniformly friendly and helpful, despite the fact that they work 7 days a week for months on end; you would never know that they don't have days off! Our stateroom attendant, Marites Delores, was absolutely wonderful. She took excellent care of us the entire time, and took great interest in our activities. She always asked how our day was going, and asked us several times what she could do better to make our stay more comfortable (we told her she was already doing everything perfectly!). She made us feel like valued guests. There are numerous shore excursions to choose from as well, so there is always "something for everyone" to do. We didn't have a very good experience in Labadee; the day we were there, it was quite windy and our activities (parasailing, Zip line) were canceled. Not Royal Caribbean's fault, of course, but disappointing nonetheless. The beach itself was sandy and nice, but don't even bother trying to swim in the ocean. The bottom is nothing but rocks and broken up pieces of coral, just waiting to cut up your feet! We loved the shore excursions in Jamaica and Cozumel; lots of fun.

Wonderful cruise, great staff, amazing ship.

Cabin Review

Cabin 12192
The cabin itself was nice, and very clean. The bathroom is very small, and the shower is smaller than a phone booth; you bump your arms against the walls when turning around. The larger balcony was nice, but lounge chairs would have been a welcome addition.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Snorkeling
We did the Palancar Reef snorkel and Starfish Sanctuary trip. It was great! Carlos and the rest of the staff on the tour were fun, safety-minded, and went the extra mile to make the trip enjoyable. They even had free rum punch, beer, and margaritas (all you can drink) on the trip back, which is not advertised on the website. Highly recommend this tour.

  • Plantation Tour
We went to the Park (can't remember the exact name), which granted access to the Sugar Plantation tour (very informative), ziplining through the canopy (very exciting), tubing down the Martha Brae river (leisurely, guide provided information on Jamaica, told lots of jokes, etc.). Also had a pool, which looked nice but we didn't use it.

  • Ziplining
Very exciting, long distance over water.
