We are a family of 3, 2 diamond adults and 1 diamond teen daughter. We booked this cruise on our spring break cruise of 2016 on the Navigator of the seas. I posted an event on Facebook and low and behold 47 of our closest friends joined us. We had 3 full sea days and visited Rotan, Belize, and Cozumel.
We started out the cruise at the Sheraton 4 Points in Galveston. We were lucky to reserve a room on points. Several of our friends payed over $200 for a one-night stay. The staff at the hotel was very nice. The rooms were just ok and the restaurant bar service was very slow because they were overwhelmed with precruise and spring break guests. Since we had so many friends at the hotel we just dropped our bags in our room and then went to the common area to have an evening of fun and wine with our friends at the hotel. The restaurant was so slow we ended up getting food from Wendy’s next door. We didn’t mind, we were going on a cruise and we had brought our own wine. It was late when we got back to the room and we went straight to bed. When we got up the next morning in the light the room was filthy. We complained to the manager and they apologized.
We went to the port around 10 am and were on the Freedom of the Seas by 11 am. We had the ultimate drink package and VOOM surf package. We were in Jr. Suite 9270. We brought on our 2 bottles of wine. Eric our attendant was wonderful. Our room was the cocktail hour room and we had lots of room service and empty glasses every night and Eric had the mess cleaned up when we returned from dinner. We tipped him extra for all his trouble.
The Junior suite was very nice. We had friends next door so we were able to open up the balcony divider. We had the evening cocktail party in our room and our attendant Eric cleaned up after us without complaint. We tipped him well for all his service.
Went diving at coconut tree divers and large group charter snorkel
VW Bug tour and diving with Dressel divers.
Private trip to Caye Caulker. Great beach day.
Port is great but you must plan how to get there from Hobby or Bush ahead of time or pay about $90 for a cab ride. All motel/hotel on the island charge a premium for precruise night stays.
