We wanted a last minute holiday and as Britannia embarked from Southampton this was hassle free as no flights to coordinate with transfers etc. Embarkation ran very smoothly and was very well organised. Once on board we were able to go straight to our cabin on deck 12 and could not believe our luggage was ready and waiting for us. Our deck 12 balcony cabin was very comfortable. Tastefully decorated and lots of hanging space which we have not had with any of the other lines we have cruised with. Bathrooms are a bit on the small side a compromise I suppose for the extra wardrobe space but not an issue for us. The shower is a great size with a glass door and a nice touch is White Company products. Very large flat screen tv with average choice of entertainment some of which you have to pay for which is a bit cheeky.

Dinning.

We were extremely disappointed with the standard of food on Britannia especially as they claim to be a foodies paradise. We were freedom dining and ate in the Peninsular restaurant. Service was terrible and the standard of food not much better. Wine waiters were scarce and often finished the first course before we ordered wine. We decided to eat in the speciality restaurants most other nights which was much better. Sindu is some of the best food we have had at sea and the Glass house is great to. Its a shame the level of service in these restaurants is not carried over into the other areas of dinning. Im not even going to waste time reviewing the horizon Buffett or the canteen as we called it, avoid it.
