We are "Loyal to Royal," we choose this ship because we were in Allure last year and had a great time. This year we went out or Port Canaveral and the line for embarkation (the security line) was ridiculous. We waited over an hour and a half to get through security. Once we got through check-in was quick and easy.
The ship was clean and everything was in working order. There was something that just wasn't as special as last year, but I can't put my finger on what it was. The staff was great, service was great. John our dining room waiter table 981 was fantastic. It's been a while since we had service like that.
The daytime activities are always good, and get great participation from the guests. Belly flop contest, sex man competition, and volleyball are fun. The evening shows were just ehh. They've been better. Last year Mamma Mia in Allure was fabulous. Cats in Oasis was just okay. It wasn't the actors/actresses, they did a fine job. It just seemed all the shows were just a bit lackluster. The Quest show is a don't miss show. So funny! Not for children! There is so much to do, that we never did all the things we wanted to.
The cabin was spacious. It was clean except for a stain on the carpet. These things happen. The light on the balcony wasn't working, but we never asked anyone to fix it. It was nice to sit outside in the dark listening to the waves. We had three cabins next to each other so we had the room steward open the doors between the balconies. The bathroom was your typical cruise ship bathroom.
We just walked off and shopped in port. Shopping was great, we spent a lot of money. The vendors are a bit pushy, but remember to negotiate. These vendors just want your money. There's plenty of room for negotiation.
