Mariner of the Seas is just too big for us, too many people, pushing and shoving at times to get to the buffet, even dining room had problems with mixed orders and warm food. Was it new staff perhaps still being trained? Always seemed to be queues..specially at disembarking...chaos reigned.
The Evening shows were really good, particularly the Ice Show, and we did enjoy sitting out on Promenade Deck 5 at the Wig and Gavel Pub and thinking we were on land somewhere whilst outside it was miserably cold and foggy.
The shopping available was not for us older persons, and with the weather being so awful, unable to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. As non smokers too, very difficult to find somewhere around the covered pool areas where smoking was permitted.
Comfortable and spacious. The first 2 nights we were bothered with loud banging from loose wall panelling near the sliding door. Customer service firstly said nothing could be fixed until HongKong and offered us earplugs! Not good enough..so after a few words, finally a serviceman did arrive and several rivets were put into the panelling and all was well. Lack of toiletries except for shower gel was surprising....was this a cost saving exercise??
Have been to Hong Kong on various occasions so did not do an organised tour, Being a public Holiday too made it almost impossible to get to anything worthwhile due to the crowds.
Have been to Singapore many times, we embarked here, so no sightseeing, having flown in from Perth the night before.
