We just returned from an eight day cruise on Anthem to Port Canaveral, Coco Cay, and Nassau, Bahamas. I have cruised several times on Royal Caribbean, and Anthem of the Seas was by far the best ship I have been on, in fact I only had one concern the entire vacation.
Cabin: to save money for other parts of the adventure, we opted for the large inside stateroom with virtual balcony. The room fit myself, my husband, and our 2 children well and there was plenty of places to store all of the stuff we packed. Our cabin Steward, Ronolfo was amazing. He went above and beyond to make our cruise wonderful. In fact, when he heard how much my kids liked the towel animals, he made them a different one each night! The room was always clean and fresh and the bathroom was nicely designed. The only issue we had with the room was that the beds, especially the pullout sofa were hard, though Ronolfo piled extra duvets on them to make them more comfortable.
The Ship: The ship was beautiful and sparkling clean. The artwork is amazing, many of the paintings, and sculptures are interactive. The elevator lobby is absolutely beautiful with a 10 story jeweled wall hanging visible through the glass elevators. My favorite place on the ship, by far, was the 270 lounge. With its floor to ceiling, panoramic view of the ocean, comfy chairs, and excellent cafe, it was a terrific place to hang out during the day. At night is changes into a technologically amazing performance venue, with the vistarama screen and the roboscreeens to provide really exciting entertainment.
As I said in my overall review the cabin was kept very clean, the storage was sufficient, and it was a great value for our money. We don't spend much time in our cabin when on a cruise so the interior stateroom serves us well. The virtual screen was a great touch because we never felt like we were sailing in a closet. There was always a nice view of the ocean.
Easy boarding and disembarking. The port is right off the Jersey Turnpike. For us it was an hour and a half drive from home.
