We love the transatlantic and Trans Pacific crossings. We booked this crossing on the NCL Epic the day it became available approximately two years ago. We had done a week on the EPIC 4 years ago in the Caribbean and enjoyed the ship. We booked a spa mini-suite (14116) and loved it!!! We received access to the Persian Garden (or whatever NCL named it) for the entire trip and we used it twice per day - wake up and prior to cocktail hour. The ship was immaculate and we saw no obvious sign of age. We received a 6 night ultimate dining package when we booked and then bought 5 additional more, the two remaining nights we used our Platinum Plus coupons. We only made it to breakfast twice but did eat lunch in Taste 3 times, the Garden Café 6 times, Shanghai Noodle Bar 1 time and O'Sheehan's 2 times. We loved the Shows so much that we saw Priscilla twice and Burn the floor twice. The lounge acts were excellent - especially the latin guitarist in Maltings! Our room steward and Sidney in Cagney's were exceptional, the cruise staff was wonderful; however, the service in the bars Great Outdoors, etc was mediocre to poor. Our best meals were in Le Bistro, then The Italian, and Cagney's we did Tepanyaki one night (not my favorite on land or at sea) but they ranged from very good to excellent. Cirque Dreams was a highlight and the man that does the bathtub routine is not to be missed. The only negatives are those which are commonly cited - the smoke in the casino that pervades other areas and the lack of a promenade deck. The ports were good but we really enjoyed the time at sea - total relaxation. I know people either love or hate the EPIC but we loved it and had a wonderful time and we will be booking her again.
Loved it, loved it, loved it. Very comfortable and nicely appointed - second time in this category - will book again.
