Cabin: Aqua Class Balcony

Chose this cruise because I was very keen to visit that part of the world. We stayed in Singapore prior to the cruise and were very happy with the Orchard Hotel that had been booked for us. It was in a very central position and everything about it was first class. We had a private transfer to the port and embarkation was fine. It was our first Aqua Class booking and were very excited about this. Our cabin was exactly the same as any other balcony cabin. On reaching our cabin, it had a heavy layer of dust on the TV. This was quickly rectified. The only other benefits of being Aqua Class were a few nibbles delivered to our cabin every afternoon and the flexibility of eating in the Blue Restaurant. The food was the same as in the main restaurant, just less people. The waiters in the main restaurant seemed to want to please a lot more.

The ship itself was looking very tired, although I believe it was due for a refit. We had been on the Reflection 6 months previously and you could not compare the ship at all.

The main destinations we visited such as Bangkok and Ho Chi Min City were long drives from the port, which made these trips long and tiring, although the stay in Bangkok was overnight so we stayed in a hotel. We did not realise this until after we had booked. Smaller ships are able to dock much closer.

Cabin Review

Aqua Class Balcony

A normal balcony cabin. However, the mirror in the bathroom did not steam up. Whether this was worth the extra money or not I can't say.
