I chose this cruise because my coworker who cruises a lot recommended Royal Caribbean as having the best food. She was right, the food was great. There were lots of options for places to eat that were free and for a small fee we could eat in other places also. Looking back I probably should have done one of the dining packages because the specialty restaurant we tried "sabor" was phenomenal. The menu for dinner in the dining room changed nightly, we were constantly overwhelmed with choice and everything was perfectly prepared. The service was excellent. Our excursions were great also, we did mixed excursions combining beach and sightseeing. Our favorite excursion was the dune buggy tour in Costa Maya, it was not at all cheesy. The most beautiful beach we visited was Cozumel and they took us to the beach where there was a restaurant with amazing seafood. I was also very impressed with the comedy shows on the ship and the game shows. We laughed and laughed. We also went to the magic show and to a variety show where the singers and dancers and orchestra were great. We also loved playing in the casino, I was impressed with the tables pricing. They had $3 table games during the day until about 7 and then they only went up to $6 so you could experience everything at a realistic price. We went back and forthOur only complaints about the ship are the cost of drinks being higher than what I was quoted by the cruise line prior to our trip and the room service. Every single drink was rang up at $11 when I was told different prices for different types of drinks prior to sailing while trying to research drink packages. My husband doesn't drink but I like to have a few now and then plus I am a light weight so it didn't make sense for us to pay $42/day per person for unlimited drinks. Also, the drinks were very weak, basically a slushy. It would have taken several of them in a short period to get any effect. There was one night where I had like 6 drinks over a few hours and didn't feel anything where I would have normally been in a coma from that many. In the following days I didn't even bother having a drink or if I did it was just 1 because what was the point? I was also passed over at the bar so many times I wondered if I was invisible. The bartenders were the only crew that seemed to be rushed/annoyed or be less than enthusiastic about serving. I know there were tons of people ordering drinks at $0 and not tipping. I always tip $1 so I pretty much felt screwed all the way around overpaying and not feeling I was getting a good value or service. I would have spent more money on drinks if they were stronger or didn't cost quite so much. The best drink value on the ship was when I ordered a carafe of sangria at Sabor, that was $20 and about 5-6 glasses of wine. The room service was not free, it cost $8 no matter what time you order it even though we had read it was free unless you ordered after midnight to 5am. The 2 times we ordered it were bad experiences, the first time it was half and hour late and we needed to leave for an excursion. We filled out the pre order for breakfast and knew by the door hanger there was an upgrade charge for what we ordered. They called us when it was supposed to be delivered to tell us there was a charge which we said was fine then they delivered our food 30 minutes late from the time we selected. There was no room service menu other than when ordering from the tv and even though it says things are free they are not. The second time we expected it to be free and they called to tell us there was going to be a charge even though it was like 5 in the evening. I tried asking the person who delivered it why there was a charge and she did not speak english very well, didn't seem to understand what I was asking. It sounded like she was telling me it was from us ordering it through the tv but there was no obvious alternative other than to just call on the phone and blindly order. The food was also disappointing from room service. Despite these few hiccups, overall we spent about what we thought we would and found the cruise to be a great value.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

The cabin was very spacious for being the cheapest one available when we booked. It had a surprising amount of closet space and other storage spaces. We stored our suitcases under the bed to get them out of the way and were able to unpack all of our clothes and shoes etc in the room just fine with plenty of extra space. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had a ton of water pressure. I have no complaints about the cabin.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

It was so easy to get from the airport to the ship using the airport transfers from RC.
