For this cruise of the Western Caribbean, Norwegian Dawn probably deserves on 3 stars, but we had 4 stars worth of fun anyway. Our balcony cabin was lovely, with cheery decor and a nice big bathroom. Decor in the rest of the ship was seriously lacking. The 'artwork' and carpeting in the foyers made it impossible to get your bearings and even on the last day we were turning the wrong way. The artwork in the Venetian Dining room was downright scary although the food was almost always excellent. The buffet for breakfast on early shore days was mediocre and the decor grim. We had a few disappointing meals in O'Sheehans. Aqua turned out to be the best, excellent food, nice decor and tables close enough to allow some friendly interaction.

Pool deck was terrible. Only shade or rain shelter was big sofas arranged in patterns that allowed two people to take up room for eight - and half of that was smoking area. Bimini Bar had some shaded tables, but they weren't serving food.

Biggest complaint was getting off the ship for shore excursions - terrible cattle press with no organization.
