While I normally cruise with Princess, Celebrity offered the itinerary we wanted. We paid extra for the "Concierge Class". Not worth it. The ship was lovely, but nothing really stood out other than the Hot Glass Show (which was fantastic!). While I have never had a "bad" cruise, I am not sure why Celebrity is billed as a "premium" cruise line. It was just not all that special. Service was wonderful, but the food was mediocre and the "special sales events" were non stop. Evening entertainment was great but the daytime activities were limited to primarily "Special Sales Events" Out cabin, while kept spotless had a couch which had holes in it and the paint was peeling off of the deck furniture as well as the ship's superstructure.
Embarkation at Sydney was the best we've ever done! Got on board in under an hour!
Dunedin was a disaster! It took us 1.5 hours just to get off the ship! Then, to add insult to injury, buses into town were not provided free of charge and Celebrity charged us $20 a head for a 10min bus trip. Explored on our own here, taking the Cadbury tour and visiting museums
Cabin was kept spotless, but was very small for 3 people. The couch had holes in it and the deck furniture paint was peeling. The larg bathroom was nice but it came at the cost of cabin space and storage.
Don't miss the Giant' House!
Most museums are free. Te Papa Museum was amazing. Take the cable car up and walk back downhill through the botanical gardens.
It is a very small town but very welcoming. Enjoyed the Edwin Fox museum.
