The Norwegian Jewel needs some work, all in all its a fine ship but it needs to go back in the yards for refurbishment. First day out the safe did not work, it was fixed before dinner. Our A/C went haywire the second night out, turned our cabin into the Yukon, it was fixed the next day but then it went haywire again and now it turned our cabin into the Sahara desert. Very interesting 3 days, then l came down with Bronchitis, went to sick bay, the Doctors and Nurses did an excellent job of diagnosis and treatment. Had an IV, breathing treatments plus tests, was there for about 3 hours. Had to go back next day to see if my temp came down and lungs cleared up, which they did. It was no more expensive then mainland ER`s. My sincere thanks to the Medical staff of the Norwegian Jewel. Other than that it was a wonderful relaxing cruise. We ate 2 nights at the Tzar`s Palace, one at Azura, then specialty dinning at Cagney`s, Le Bistro, Teppanyaki, and Monderno. The specialty restaurants are well worth the added charge, The entertainment was fine , loved the trivia sessions, did not take any tours as this was our 4th trip down the Mexican Riviera.
As noted above. Other than that it was a normal balcony cabin facing aft. My wife and I enjoy the aft facing cabins and try very hard to book them when ever we sail. There was plenty of room for our clothes and such, for two people no problems for space. I think my last two cruises kind of clouded my judgement of the Jewel as we sailed on the Epic and Escape in the Haven. Yea and it was worth every penny. You got to do it at least once in your life.
