Wanted to try a big ship and we were not disappointed. We elected a seven night western caribbean cruise out of of Fort Lauderdale. The port is well organized and easy to navigate: twenty-seven minutes to get on the ship after parking the car and forty-two from ship to car leaving using express departure. We had a boardwalk balcony room on the 12th deck. Great view out the back and of the boardwalk deck below. Our bags were at our room by 4:30 PM. Family with kids or just a couple like us, Allure of the seas delivers a great package for the money. A big, beautiful, well maintained ship with and amazing staff and crew. There was so much to do we simply could not experience all the perks. The wife and I are 65 but we loved the Dreamworks theme. Over 5,000 cruisers including 1600 kids and hardly ever felt crowded. We elected my time dining and the food and service were exceptional. Chops is a must and, if offered, sign up for the Sushi Class which is a lot of fun and well worth the cost. We did breakfast in Windjammers which was a little busy, but offered incredible meal options. The staff moved people in and out without the rush feeling of a "Cracker Barrel." All show entertainment was outstanding but make your reservations on-line before the cruise. Momma Mia was broadway quality and Earl Turner was also fantastic. Our favorite chill place was Schooner's Bar where you can see parades and theme parties on the promenade. If you drink more than 5 beers, 4 glasses of wine or 3 mix drinks per day buy the deluxe drink package. The wife also got the single device Voom internet the second day for a discount. Wait for the last cruise day to do spa options as the offer incredible package discounts. If there was a shortcoming it was the shore excursions. The Dragon's Breath zip line on Labadee is a rush but the beach is not Cococay. The Yaaman 3 to Prospect Plantation is ok but did not deliver as per the on-line information or in the handout provided in the room. Do not buy the photos at the on site shop as it is a rip off. Chichen Itza was a disaster. We spent 2 1/2 hours on a ferry, 5 hours on a bus for 45 minutes at the ruins. The site itself is breathtaking, but I was very disappointed that the web site and shore excursion staff were not more forthcoming on this. Book your excursions on-line for discounts. All in all we were very happy with our Royal Caribbean ship experience and will consider a future trip on Allure or one of the sister ships.

Cabin B1

Boardwalk balcony rooms are unique in that you can see the water, aqua theater and what is going on on deck 6 below. Our room was clean, spacious and user friendly. The mattress on the was exceptional. Outstanding service by our room attendant Imade.
