We chose a cruise that had decent destination ports. We hoped that Carnival had enough experience in the industry to provide good entertainment and service during the transportation to these ports... we were wrong. During the cruise, it was difficult to get an adult beverage because of the lack of service staff. They had a couple of self-service beer stations that would have helped with the service issue but they rarely worked. The shows were an absolute joke, when they had shows. The entertainment during our cruise was almost none existent. The shows that they did have were repeated throughout the cruise. We signed up for one excursion during this cruise. It was "the ultimate land and sea adventure" at the Grand Turk port. Even though Carnival goes to this port on a routine basis, they mistimed their docking process. As we tried to debark the ship the process was stopped and all passengers were made to wait while another Carnival ship came into port. This caused many people to miss their excursions and caused us to have to do excursions with people who were late. We were supposed to do 4 adventures during our excursion but only completed two and we were late getting back to the ship. The best part about the cruise was the weather. We had perfect weather during our vacation. Our wait staff at dinner were great but the food was average at best. Our room steward was great and helped throughout the cruise.

We "upgraded" to an ocean view room. The problem was that our window was so dirty that we could barely see out of it. The room was decent but we had to call for maintenance a couple of times. One time because the water in the bathroom would only come out on extreme hot. It would not cool down. They had to change the entire fixture in the bathroom so cold water would work. The second issue was the air conditioner. It was hot in our room. When the maintenance supervisor came to check the room it was 88 degrees and would not cool off. They repaired that as well.
