As a "big time" cruiser, myself and 14 members of my family decided to try out Norwegian for the first time. Unfortunately, it will be our last. We cruised on the Getaway, and boy do I wish we could have gotten away from it. From the tiny balcony in our stateroom to the pathetically small one pool that was supposed to entertain 4200 passengers, there is very little positive I could say about the ship. They have the smoking lounge directly beside the one pool so unless you like second hand smoke you better find another place to lay in the sun. Also, if you like to try and stay in shape while cruising bring your own equipment. The work out and cardio room are so small you can not even get a decent sweat going. It was totally packed all the time. The food was decent and a couple of the shows are worth watching, but don't waste your time with the Illusionist show. It's an extra charge, and not worth a dime. The service and the food served at the show were both awful. Our ports of call were Hondurus which was beautiful, 2 stops in Mexico, our excursion in Cozumel got cancelled at the last minute, and "Belize" which is not even really Belize. Just a man made beach day and another way for Norwegian to suck some more money out of you. I didn't feel for even one moment the entire week one person was trying to go out of the way to provide exceptional guest service, which is what my husband and I have come to expect from cruise ships. My hope is that the first time cruisers that start off with Norwegian don't judge all lines by the service and experience they have with the Norwegian group.
Balcony was ridiculously small, closet impossible to get in to, shower leaked. Decent space otherwise.
Rip off, stop telling people they are visiting Belize
We had booked an excursion but it was cancelled at the last minute.
