We chose this cruise for the itinerary (8 night cruise to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan and Grand Turk). We didn't have high expectations about the ship based on reviews I had read.
Embarkation was awful...we got to the pier at 11:30 for a noon embarkation time. The process was so slow and inefficient that we didn't board till nearly 2pm...UGH!!!
Ship is definitely due to dry dock refurbishing. But overall, it has been well maintained. We were disappointed with the buffet (limited offerings, no separation of hot foods from cold at breakfast and dinner - really a hassle, water dispensers not working or barely dribbling to get a glass of water resulting in lots of frustration and long lines), the weak showtime entertainment and the lack of digital photos for all the onboard/pier shots they take...really hard to sift through thousands of photos to find yours.
Cabin Review
Balcony
Cabin was decent. Lots of storage for me and my wife. Bed was fine for me but too hard for her. Balcony is on the small side - no lounge chair, just two chairs and small able. Shower has a curtain rather than a sliding door - curtains are not my favorite on cruises...this one seemed to behave and not maul me :-) Internet was slow...seems that most people we talked to had the same problem no mater where their cabin was located. Decor was dated. And, as is the case with most cabins, only one outlet in the cabin.
