NCL is the cruise line of choice for our family and Miami has been the favored embarkation or departure city. We prefer to fly into Ft. Lauderdale (FLA) and stay there as well. KSA Tours is the shuttle service of choice for their reliability, safety and reasonable rates. Joey, Carlos and Leo are very good drivers for KSA, and provide exceptional service.

The Getaway (NCL) is a very large ship and requires a check-in process for such a crowd. We arrived at Terminal C around 1115 AM and were through security (Customs) and the check-in process with no delays or waiting in line. This check-in process was the best we have had.

Prior to boarding the ship we were categorized in boarding group #22. This means that we were able to board after hearing over the loud speaker that our group was authorized for boarding. The only complaint I can present of this process is the fact that there are many, many guests waiting to board in the same waiting area. Though refreshments are made available and there are restrooms in the immediate vicinity, the refreshments are far too little for all of the guests and the restrooms far to small for the number of guests in the waiting area.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BD

The cabin with balcony is almost a must if you are travelling with more than two people. The back of the ship is a favorite place to book a room and the balcony option is in our opinion the best way to cruise. The tenth deck is a very good place to be, which is between the top deck and the decks below where we frequently find ourselves (8th for shops, 7th and 6th for entertainment and restaurants).
