Sail Date: Mar 2017
Cabin: Grand Suite with Balcony

We booked this one week cruise out of San Francisco and booked one of the "Grand Suites" on Deck 14 (L302). Already a Platinum member with Princess having cruised with them 4 times previously.

Our first impressions of Grand Princess was very positive. Previously having cruised on Sapphire and Diamond, Grand is smaller and as a ship looks far more 'in proportion'. We were slightly delayed leaving San Francisco but still got to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge in day light (albeit cold) which was a very nice experience.

Our suite was obviously very special (you can see it on Youtube etc) and given the weather, particularly on Sea Days was a bit 'iffy' then having the space and comfort really helped our experience. That said, being up on Deck 14 you are a bit more prone to feeling the movements of the ship, which in generally moderate (occasionally rough) seas and winds consistently at 35-50 knots when sailing made for lots of movement and a fair bit of creaking.

Grand Suite with Balcony

Cabin S1

The Grand Suite was fabulous, made the overall experience so much better. Unfortunately we didnt have that much opportunity to use the balcony as we had relatively poor sea days weather wise, but did get to enjoy the additional living space.

Very comfortable accommodation and a real 'treat' for us.
