I have cruised more than 20 times and found Pride of America to be a nice size ship for getting around. The room was smaller with less storage space then the last NCL ship I was on. I must say that the 2 shows I saw were the best I have ever seen on a cruise ship. The shows were crisp and well done. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the food service.

Not once regardless of whether it was 3 of us or our whole group of 22 did everyone get their food at the same time. At every meal at least one person was served their main course after everyone else was finished. Only once in 7 nights did all the meals come out as ordered and if that person sent it back, well then there were 2 or 3 people waiting for dinner. It didn't matter which dining room we went to there was always a problem and often it was ignored by the wait staff who would want people's dessert order before the missing meals were brought out. In addition to this we had one group member who required a special diet. They checked with the cruise line before booking to make sure they could provide the diet, then they sent an email outlining the specifics and they met with the maitre d' each night going over the next days selection for dinner and we made reservations so they would know when we were coming in. Took until night 6 for kitchen to get it right. Some of the staff tried everything they could to get it right but others didn't understand or care that the wrong food or wrongly prepared food would have resulted in a medical emergency.

This ship really needs to clean it's act up. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are way overpriced. There are fees for everything and the services is almost non-existing.
