We chose this cruise for several reasons. Firstly, we needed a vacation, due to a colder and longer than normal Vancouver (Canada) winter. Second, we wanted to try a cruise line we had never booked before and had heard good things about RCI from a seasoned cruising friend of ours. Third, this was a longer than normal cruise, due to the ship having been privately chartered by a large insurance company for a staff cruise, but only for a few days so RCI filled in the remaining days with our 10 day cruise - great !
We also did a lot of online research into the Adventure of the Seas and found that she had recently undergone a multi million dollar re-fit, so we felt that this cruise and this ship would suit our needs well.
As former Travel agents ourselves, from many years ago, we are always expecting good things, and this trip was fantastic. The ship was magnificent, the crew and staff onboard were well informed, courteous, and always able to make us feel right at home.
Very nice cabin with ours being made up as a queen berth. The large window is a huge circular porthole, which is double glazed and more than big enough to allow great lighting and views from the cabin. The bathroom has a good sized shower and I am not a small guy. I found the corner WC a little crammed in there, and would have preferred something a little more ergonomically pleasing following its use (if you can imagine what I mean) IE there's not much space around it. There's no sofa in this cabin, but we didn't spend much time in there anyway - it's just a place to sleep when you are not enjoying the ship and the ports of call, but still adequately comfortable if you need a rest. I would have preferred a firmer mattress but that is a matter of preference and not a criticism. BTW - Wilma Foster is the best ever host and cabin attendant you will ever find - A real gem !
