This cruise was a last-minute decision for a quick Spring Break getaway. A friend took care of the details for me and my daughter so I didn't really pay attention to what I was getting into. We joked about the open bar being included and I didn't really realize that it meant that the whole ship was open bar until I started researching (after I had paid). The previous reviews caused me quite a bit of anxiety and I am happy to report that we had a much different experience.
My previous cruises (5) have been on Holland America and Disney so this was my first time with Norwegian. The ship was a little worn around the edges but very clean and the staff was engaging and eager to please. Our outside cabin was well-maintained by a friendly steward who immediately remembered our names. We were thankful we were only on a 5-day Bahamas cruise though because storage is quite limited. I can't imagine how people cruise the sister to this ship for 7 days in Alaska.
Food ---> This is where I have to make the rating average. Of course, plenty of options at all hours, but it just doesn't compare to the other cruise lines. Main dining room food was just okay - sort of middle America meets the tropics cuisine. Quite frankly, the garden cafe buffet had more interesting options that seemed to be fresher (and untouched because they were too weird for some to try - think curries, dal, etc.) We discovered breakfast at Il Adagio - they made omelettes with real eggs in there!
Clean with a comfortable bed. Storage is almost non-existent. We used our suitcases as drawers.
