Trip Details
  • Sail Date: Dec 2016
  • Destination: Australia & New Zealand
  • Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Booked this cruise in May 2016 for New year cruise $250.00 per day as it was a new ship I expected it to be a wow ship.

The cabin was an obstructed balcony Level 6. Not a problem, the occasional creaks & groans at night time.

Dining was supposed to be Dynamic dining. This didn't eventuate as with so many people on board they could not handle. Meals were the same at all dining venues except of speciality dining which you pay for additional.

Entertainment: 3 main shows were on offer bookable through your phone or by QUEUEING.

The Pixel show was disappointing. The other two shows were very good. All the three shows could NOT be booked to suit your time.

Karaoke was excellent in the Bolero room. Lunch time sessions & evening sessions.

Most activities were in the fabulous 270 degree room right at the back of the ship complemented by 270 degree café.

North Star went on it twice & on both occasion it just went up & down. Didn't go over the side.

Bumper car ride waited 1hour 40 minutes for a 3 minute ride.

Rip cord time taken to suit up & listen to instructions approx. half hour with the waiting. In the ride for 60 seconds.

Ports. Every port was Queues Queues Queues

Overall TOO MANY PEOPLE. Chinese staff have difficulty understanding questions.

First time I missed bringing in the New Year as the band played in Boleros stopped at 10.30 never to be returned. There was no place to sit so off we went to bed at 11.00 PM

It would have to be a really special deal for me to back.

Prefer Voyager & Explorer no ice rink on Ovation.

Service in the dining room was excellent but I felt I was in a café. No wow in the low ceiling room.
