Boarding was quick and easy as we were booked into a Owners Suite #1300, so we got to bypass the big line when we arrived at 12:15 p.m. We have cruised "many" times on the Adventure and are very familiar with the ship. The new Chops restaurant was the only visible improvement we noticed. This was a unique 10 night sailing, so we had 3 Main Dining Room menus that are not typically made during a 7 night itinerary. We weren't impressed with the Basil & Tarragon menus. Otherwise, the Main Dining Room food was very good, delivered hot and well presented by our Waiter Dennis and Assistant Waiter Iyaman. They did not have Savory Bites as a bread offering the 1st night and I was told they couldn't make them. I'm not a bread eater typically, so I wanted my Savory Bites. They magically appeared every night after that. We visited Chef's Table and Chops Grille once each. I wish the Chef's Table was in a private area and not the Main Dining Room. Everything at Chops Grille was amazing, but the Peppered Bacon (Pork Belly) Appetizer. It had not been cooked long enough and was tough as leather. We did the ship sponsored Antigua Champagne Lobster Catamaran & Bonaire Champagne Catamaran. We arrived on time at 8:45 a.m. outside the ship for the 9:00 a.m. Antigua excursion and they had left us. I had the RCCL Shore Excursion person on the pier call them and they waited for us. I complained when were re-boarded the ship and they apologized and told us they should have waited. Otherwise the Antigua excursion was fine. Bonaire is an amazing island and I hope we get to visit it on many more cruises. Francisco "Frankie" the Concierge helped with Future Cruise bookings, and much more quickly and with a smile always. We are sad the Adventure will be moving in 2018, and hope to cruise her again before she leaves San Juan.

We were in our Stateroom by 1:00 p.m. Our Stateroom Attendant was Ryan Marslow, and he did an excellent job.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Spent one night pre-cruise at Sheraton Old San Juan in Bay View Suite. Every was great and usual.

St. Thomas

3 hours at Emerald Beach, Lunch at Gladys and a little shopping in Charlotte Amalie.

St. Lucia

Bit of walking around the port area. Enjoyed the day on the ship mostly.

Barbados

We visited Barbados on a Sunday. Everything was closed and the whole island was at the beach. I will do a Resort for a Day if we visit again on a Sunday. Too many kids at the beach.

Curacao

Just a walk around the port and into town. Very windy day, but it was pretty and usual.

Aruba

Lunch at Iguana Joes for the ribs!!!!!!!!!
