What a wonderful way to celebrate my husbands birthday, from start to finish it was fantastic.Flights to Athens went like clockwork even though we had only 50 minutes to catch our connecting flight at Amsterdam and amazingly our luggage arrived in Athens as well,so a great start to our celebrations.Transfer to the ship at Pireus went smoothly and so did embarkation, helped along with a welcoming glass of bubbly and a chorus of Happy Birthdays from our friends waiting in the Reception area. The staff on the Quest make sure that they provide an excellent service to ensure their guests have a marvellous holiday. This is led by the example of the Quests Captain ,Carl Smith, who does a great job.The Officers are all very friendly and helpful,as are the rest of the staff.A special mention has to go to Donald, a fellow Scot, who is the Officer in charge of all the food and beveridges on the ship. And Sue the Cruise Director who comes from England but also has Scottish connections, her show is not to be missed.Which leads us onto the entertainment aboard, Jim Badger in the Mosaic Cafe, it was standing room only every evening ,fantastic Jim you do a great show. When Jim and Sue do a double act it raises the roof, keep up the good work you two.Doug Cameron, what a musician ,and a very down to earth person. The cabin was fine, plenty room for our clothes etc, well kept by Marc and his assistant,Dustin ,they always greeted us with a cheery smile no matter what time of day you saw them and eager to help if they could.

The food was excellent both in the Discoveries and the Windows and also in the Breeza in the evenings,if you wanted a more informal meal. The Poolside Buffets were also good and well presented. The snacks in the mosaic cafe during the day were great but too tempting, but who cares about calories when youre on holiday. All the stops were pulled out at the receptions eg Welcome Party, Captains Club, Cruise Critics and the Loyalty one for people who had cruised with Azamara before.I thought that was a nice touch, just a little extra, which was appreciated. So would I cruise again with Azamara, you bet I would, and yes I would certainly recommend them to other people, infact I already have.Even when we had our flight delayed on the journey home and a few other problems on route it still did not spoil our holiday. So now back at work and looking forward to our next cruise with Azamara.
