Overall this was a very good cruise. Like all vacations there can be issues and this trip was no different. This was our 11th cruise and our second on RCCL. The food on the Jewel was great. The temperature inside the ship was perfect. Our cabin steward was great. The ship stage entertainment was okay. Most live music in the Centrum was so freaking loud you had to shout at the person next to you to be even remotely heard. Our group avoided it after a couple of days. Which brings up an interesting point. Our cabin was on deck 4 within 100 feet of the Centrum. With our door closed the inside of our cabin was completely silent.

The food on this ship was the best we've had on a cruise ship. Ever. We went to the dining room twice. Service at dinner was very good. The buffet had so many options we found ourselves eating there every day around 3 PM and skipping dinner altogether.

My 79 year old mother was with her sister and had an issue in the casino with a slot machine that did not record a voucher she had inserted. After being told numerous times by the casino attendant that she was mistaken and confused mom demanded the machine be opened. There on top of the stack was her $20.16 voucher. She was told by the attendant that the ticket voucher was not hers and it was just a coincidence that the voucher was the exact amount she said it was. They finally got the casino manager to come over and he agreed that it was hers. The attendant wouldn't leave it alone and told her she could only play the voucher on ship promo machines. The manager said she could use it anywhere but after he left the attendant made her move to a promo machine. She had other issues with the attendant all week. Read more
