Traveled with children

We sailed on the 12 day mediterranean romance cruise from Venice to Barcelona. Having read many negative reviews on the Oosterdam before leaving home I was somewhat worried about what awaited.

However, we were pleasantly suprised. We found the ship very clean, staff extremely friendly and food wonderful. We had previously sailed with Carnival and feared there would be little for the children to do on board. However they said it was the best cruise they had had. They enjoyed the ambiance of the ship and the relaxed quiet atmosphere on board. It was so lovely not to have to hear persistent tannoy announcements nor have your time in the pool interupted by organised pool games.

We were very impressed with the thoroughness of the lifeboat drill and the Captain advising passengers to avail themselves of the medical centre free of charge if they should encounter sickness or diarreah and his reminder on the importance of hand washing.

Cabin Review

Cabin bal

Cabin 4019 was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Plenty of storage space and luggage fitted under bed. It had a queen bed, bed setee that converted to small double and a single bunk. Dvd player, television, hairdryer and bathrobes. This cabin had a stainless steel balcony which was not a problem and the balcony itself was very deep and 4 people could comfortably sit out together. It had a bath with shower over.
