Overall we really enjoyed the cruise, and on the last night I was feeling really depressed about it ending - so that must mean it was a good cruise! Our embarkation in Seattle was very quick and smooth. We went to the cruise terminal at 11:30 and breezed through the formalities and walked on board with a glass of champagne in our hands before noon. We knew our cabin wouldn't be ready until after 1:00, so we just walked around the 10th deck, had some pizza and relaxed until the announcement was made that the cabins were open. Cabin - We had an aft concierge class cabin on the 7th deck (Vista). This was our first M class Celebrity Ship experience but we had done some homework and knew that it would have a large balcony - it was huge - and we were pleased with our cabin choice. The verandas are long and deep, almost the same size as the cabin. It was great to have that extra room. We also met our Cabin Attendant - Santana from India. He did a great job on the cruise. He was the best Celebrity Cabin Steward we have ever had. He worked very hard, wanted very much to please us, and met our every request with a smile and prompt service. He was always working and would run to open our cabin door for us when we were coming down the hall to our room. Our cabin was kept clean and well serviced. He was quite personable - like to chat just a bit and always very friendly. He definitely made our overall cruise experience a better one. I have read a lot of comments and reviews online about the condition of the Infinity recently - many of them not favorable. Lots of talk about wear and tear, need for renovation, stains and discoloration, rust, mold, etc. Personally I found the ship to be in pretty good shape and constantly being cleaned, scrubbed and polished. Sure there were some signs of age, but if you think about how much the ship is used, how many passengers are constantly being rotated off and on it, how she weathers the elements and constant abuse, she looks pretty darn good. Certainly Celebrity works very hard to keep her ship shape. We had a brand new looking shower curtain in our bathroom. There was some damage to the floor tiles but our attendants kept that covered up with a fresh bath rug daily. I would probably have never noticed it except I picked it up to look after reading a lot of comments about that issue and wanted to judge for myself. Other than that my bathroom was kept spotless and functioned perfectly. Good water temperature and pressure in the shower, constantly fresh towels and restocked toiletries - I was pleased with it overall. Our bed was comfortable and the bed coverings while obviously not new, were in decent shape. The only thing I did not like about the layout was that when the couch is pulled out into the bed it totally blocks the veranda door access. Yes, you can still open the door, but you have to crawl over the bed, and that was kind of a pain at times since my son likes to sleep in. The rooms could use some updating but they are far from terrible. Ship - The ship is nicely laid out. It was easy to get used to and navigate about. On our nearest elevator we just went down a few decks to the dining room, rendezvous lounge, martini bar/champagne bar. It was 3 decks up to the buffet, grill, pizza, casual dining (deck 10 food areas and pool). The Fun Factory (kids club) was straight up on deck 11. Overall it was pretty easy to get to most stuff that we used a lot. The only real pain to get to was the Thalassotherapy pool, which is with the spa at the far front of the ship on deck 10. We found it easiest to walk to the far end of deck 7 and take the elevators up to deck 10 to use those facilities. I loved the Cova Cafe area, went there daily for a treat and used my laptop. One thing I loved about the ship (and true with the C class ships as well) is how there are so many peaceful places. It was always possible to find a quiet spot to sit and relax. So nice compared to other cruise lines I have been on! Celebrity does a great job with this and it is one of the main reasons we choose to cruise on their ships. Dinner - Probably our biggest let down of the cruise was our main dining room seating situation. We were assigned to a table that should have been for 8 people. There were 7 seated on our first night. The second night 2 more chairs were squeezed in (literally) and another couple joined us who had transferred from the late seating. They were nice folks and that made it easier to bear. Also, it was not until the last formal night that everyone showed up again, so we really did not have to deal with the overcrowding until that last night again. I think that was not a good move by Celebrity. Food - The quality of the food was okay. Some things were very good - others very mediocre. This has been our experience on all our Celebrity cruises so we weren't surprised by it. We love to eat and we eat a lot and like to try all sorts of things. We enjoyed the pizza station, stir fry station, pasta station, ice cream and that was all good. The room service breakfast for concierge class was the best perk we discovered this cruise. Lots of extra choices compared to our traditional room service menus of the past. We did eat in the specialty restaurant and that was a fun experience. I enjoyed it very much and will do it again. The food was good but the service and atmosphere (quiet space and lots of room) is what really makes the experience wonderful. Entertainment - We had fun at the shows (my 9 year old son loves going to them) and we found them to be very entertaining. My son also used the kids club a fair amount and he enjoyed that as well. We have found Celebrity to have an excellent kids program. I think most folks don't think of Celebrity as being family oriented, it really is, and their kids programs are very good. Like with most of the other aspects of Celebrity they are very professional (service oriented) and do a good job with the kids. I feel confident letting my child hang out there and now that he is getting older I am glad he likes to still attend the program (it's nice to have alone time once in a while on vacation!). Other stuff - We did not book any excursions through the ship, but our helicopter glacier excursion was the highlight of the cruise. Also I never received my invite to the Cruise Critic Connections get together, I kept thinking it was going to arrive but never did. Disembarkation - Getting of the ship was fast and quick. We did the luggage valet program and it worked well. Overall a wonderful trip and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
