POA looks like an NCL ship but it didn’t feel like any other cruise. It really is transportation to the islands & not much more. You have no time to enjoy the ship herself. You go, go, go, nonstop, We ate breakfast on the ship, grabbed some fruit for lunch, filled up our water bottles & came back for a late dinner. Hint: if you plan to make yourself a sandwich for the next day go to the buffet at night, not in the morning. Being Hawaii we were disappointed in the quality of the fresh fruit. The oranges were spectacular; everything else was mediocre. Our cabin steward offered the same level of hospitality as we are used to on the other voyages but no other staff members came close. We only managed to see the comedian. He was funny & relatively clean. Even his adults only show the last night while risqué was not just him cursing at the audience. We went to 80s night but they stopped playing 80s tunes too early. The White Hot Party was poorly attended. The staff tried but there simply weren’t enough people to really ramp up the energy. DeSea at Napa was quiet knowledgeable about wines. Deborah there always had a bright smile & warm welcome for us. My husband is a late night guy. There was nothing going on after 11:30 p.m. The cruise was a great overview of various islands. Having the freedom to return late on the overnights was great. The views of the lava on the big island were spectacular, worth the price of the cruise. The ports themselves are very industrial. Unlike the Caribbean islands, except for on Kauai there is not even an attempt to put amenities by the port. You have to leave the area to have any amenities. The island you tender to has stuff right when you disembark too. We did not book a single excursion through the ship. We rented a car at every port. It was more economical for our party of 6.

Cabin Review

Obstructed Oceanview
Cabin OX
We had a lovely view of the life boat through our floor to ceiling window. This was the old style cruise ship bathroom with the very tiny shower. I like the cabin design on the Gem, Jewel & Dawn better
Deck 7 Inside Cabins, Outside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
