March 25, 2017 I chose this cruise line because of such high praise and being my first cruise. I am happy with Carnival but very unhappy with the Sunshine cruise ship. For being updated currently it seems to lack a lot. Day 1 our level hallway and room had a sewage odor and continued the entire trip, I mentioned it nothing was done. Our cabin needed updating rust spots in many places and looks to be paint chipped in places. Location of the hair dryer was a problem and a constant issue(inside a drawer in the room). Was told first day of booking would have a fridge in our cabin asked several times before the cruise still told we would, and we did not have at all. We managed to make due with all the issues but they continued beyond our room, lido deck lounge chairs were constantly full leaving my elderly grandmother and my family walking around for awhile to find a place to sit, every day it was the same THE CREW should be more on the fact people leave towels and take off to go eat its very unfair to many of us who paid to enjoy the sun and never got to, the hot tubs and pool very overcrowded and another issue, We waited an hour to get into the adult (serenity ) hot tub the same group continued to stay . Not enough for the ship to share . Still the crew and staff were amazing the best group of people I have ever met along with the amazing family I have grown to know the 8 days at sea our Sunshine family from all over the US. Made the trip entirely worth it. Again issues that need to be resolved Pixels photography is not up to par as professionals should be. They take your photo and that is it no organization at all I waited for 3 hours to find my photo with no luck and seen so many others complain about how unorganized it was as well. They should place them by room number or something easier . By nights end thankfully 2 of the crew members with Pixels had finally found the missing picture. The Dining room food was almost top notch until the last night , which made the whole trip suddenly turn around based on how they handled things. We arrived for dinner at 7pm was not even served our water or rolls till 745, finally dinner about 830 and my food had a long black hair on my plate , immediately told our waitress who called the head waiter over and witnessed it and apologized also asking for my room number. I am not sure why they asked nothing more became of the incident they replaced the meal but at that point it was now 9 pm and I have lost my temper and was no longer hungry. I felt bad and ate the meal regardless and left very unhappy. Thinking at least maybe I would receive an apology or something to my room unsure, well no nothing. Overall this crew and staff was top notch super friendly outgoing made you feel at home. The ship overall was not satisfactory at all, I would not recommend to anyone . Sadly for a first time cruiser with kids who want to go next year I will have to put more thought into which cruise line to choose, or at least cruise ship. Overall rating a 6 based on the staff crew and people I met. Ship appearance ,able to meet the needs of others and cleanliness I would give it a 3. Hoping by taking the time to give feedback something positive may come out of this and see a better outcome for future cruisers on this ship. " The people we met I wouldn't change that for the world".
