  3. Norwegian Sun
Just arrived home after having a great cruise on the Norwegian Sun from Buenos Aries to Valparaiso. An excellent cruise from beginning to end, well almost to the end, more on that later. Embarkation – A very straight forward process with very little hassle considering there was another cruise ship loading at the same time. Cabin – Good size, very clean and and steward nearly always available if needed. Love the balcony though chairs a bit hard! Food – We nearly always ate in the main restaurant as we found the food and service excellent. Since our last trip on The Sun the menu seems to have a much larger choice. Lots of choice in the buffet but always seemed a bit busy and not always able to get a table easily. Entertainment – The evening shows were all of a high standard and very enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the evenings in the observation lounge listening to the variety of music on offer during the cruise. Entertaining and very worthwhile were the very informative lectures given by Chuck Crew – The crew of the Norwegian Sun were excellent at all times. Excursions – We did three of the Norwegian excursions and found them well organised if a little expensive. We did other excursions organised by ourselves. Disembarkation – This would turn out to be the only issue during our cruise. Due to what we later found out to be a strike in the port our luggage had to be unloaded onto a tug boat and transferred to the port and the tenders had to be used to transfer the passengers. All seemed to be going according to plan and we were ready to collect our luggage at about 8.15am unfortunately our luggage did not come until after twelve noon. I realize that Norwegian had no control over the strike but I feel passengers could have been given much more information and perhaps have had drinks brought round to all those waiting in what be came very cramped conditions as half the hall was closed off for the new passengers arriving. In conclusion my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and have already booked our next. Highlights – Falkland Islands, Puerto Tombo and the penguins, Cape Horn, The Beagle Channel, glass of wine with our evening meal, the Andes Mountains, the staff of the Norwegian Sun.

Excellent in many ways!
