This was our very first cruise and it was an amazing trip of a life time for us. It was all very overwhelming. All of the staff onboard were very friendly. We were constantly being greeting with a hello and a smile. The ship is very well maintained and always clean. We really appreciate the persistence at keeping the ship clean and presentable. I must say that the entire process of planning and getting onboard is a bit overwhelming and intimidating for the first time. A little more help with the need for reservations for dining and entertainment would have been nice and helpful. The reservation process for tendering is very frustrating and unorganized.

The NCL Epic ship was very impressive and overwhelming. Our room was very nice and clean. The accommodations were well-appointed and impressively roomy given the small square footage. We were very impressed with the clever amount of storage available. The most impressive part for us was Alex our room steward. Alex was a pleasure and he was so polite. Alex was far more than just being professional in doing his job, he was very personable in greeting us each day. It was so refreshing to be greeted with a smile and a genuine interest in us and he always asked how our day was going. Alex was like one of the family and he made our vacation very special and memorable. We are grateful that he took care of us for the week. Alex is truly an asset to the NCL organization and he was a blessing for us first timers. Thank you for an amazing vacation!

Now… our biggest disappointment and HUGE complaint is the abundance of cigarette and vape pollution that is allowed on board. We could not enjoy our balcony due to smokers smoking on their balconies. I thought that his was not allowed...? $250.00 fine if you smoke on the balcony! Apparently not! The Casino area completely ruins and pollutes the entire open area of the ship. We could not enjoy dinner in the Taste Restaurant or walk from one end of the ship to the other on those decks without having our bodies offensively violated by smokers and their toxic exhaust. The pool deck was hit and miss, we pretty much avoided that area at all costs especially on the smoking / bar side of the ship. Forget about going to the rear of the ship at Spice H20, nothing but smokers back there too. I hate that we paid all of that money for our vacation and were not able to enjoy all that the ship has to offer due to so many smokers. Why does Norwegian make normal people yield and give way to smokers? Why does Norwegian grant priority to smokers and force the normal passengers to tolerate smokers bad unhealthy habit? Who decided that the smokers are the more important guests? We suspect that the smokers are the minority on board not the majority! Smokers are making a personal choice to smoke, why should their un-healthy “personal CHOICE” also be ours? Normal people just want to enjoy the natural process of breathing! Preferably fresh clean air! Smokers unhealthy habit needs to remain their unhealthy habit, please do not share it with others without their consent. I am disappointed in NCL and the fact that you are granting smokers to have priority and right of way over normal people who just want to breathe. If smoking is to be allowed on board then NCL should charge for it, just like they do for a very necessary life sustaining and essential bottle of water. If smoking must be allowed then my recommendation is that NCL should provide a designated spot right up by the smoke stacks high above everyone and make that the only place that smoking is allowed. Or provide smokers an isolated place deep down in the bowels of the ship and keep their smoke completely contained where they can completely immerse themselves in it. This way their pollution will not violate the majority and pollute so much of the ship. The normal people who just want to breathe should not have to tolerate smokers and their inconsiderate habit, especially without our consent! NCL should offer discounts to the normal people and warn us that they allow smokers to poison their ship.
