We had heard good things about this cruise to Australia and New Zealand. The scenery and the destinations were great but the ship was terrible. First, they keep trying to get us to upgrade to a higher beverage package. They must have asked at least twenty times. I already had the highest level, but when I ordered a more expensive glass, the wine steward tried to talk me into a less expensive wine. The food was mediocre at best. The entertainment was good only one night out of thirteen. The last night was two of the room stewards singing. No big show at all. The exercise expert, who also gave lectures about foot inserts (which you could buy from him) and yoga knew nothing about either of those classes. I actually heard him telling some of the senior guests total fabrications about the human body and asking for postures in yoga that are too dangerous to be used in current yoga practice. The drinks were watered down. One of our group and I both ordered bourbon/scotch straight up and could tell that it had very little alcohol content.

The class system was ridiculous. The two higher classes or travel had their own chefs and said that the food was pretty good. However, we had not known about these classes of service so, being steerage, we weren't allowed in certain parts of the boat, even in one lounge, and we had to wait for disembarkation at the destinations.

To summarize, we have taken approximately fifteen cruises and this was the worst one ever.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin was old and small. It had a funny smell so I cleaned it myself and it was ok.
