Excellent cruise 6th time with P&O, 2nd time on Ventura. A bit rough travelling through bay of Biscay but all well once we got into Mediterranean. Arrived in Palma after 4 days at sea where weather was sunny with a cold wind. Next stop Marseilles where we went on P&O organised tour to the Basilica. This tour can be done cheaper by using transfer bus into centre and getting on "Noddy train" to Basilica. La Spezia next where we went to Pisa which again can be done a lot cheaper by arranging tour at port. Next port Ajaccio where ship docks right next to town. Did not do excursion here just walked around town. Last stop before Southampton was Gibraltar, been before so just went to town. Great value booze prices at duty free on dock next to ship.

I have read some poor reviews about Ventura and P&O in general and cannot understand why.

Food on Ventura was excellent in main dining room which is where we prefer to eat. We ate breakfast lunch and dinner in main dining room and found food served to be varied and tasty. Did not use buffet restaurant so will not comment. We had room service lunch twice which was excellent.
