We looked forward to this South American cruise for a long time. Except for missing two ports due to wind and waves, it was a wonderful trip. Regatta is a lovely small ship. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was really good, even the food at the buffet.

Unfortunately, some passengers and crew came down with influenza. There were repeated requests for everyone to wash their hands and use the alcohol gels throughout the ship. The incidents of flu continued so we went to a level 2 red situation where we could not have anything on our dining tables, use of equipment in the gym was limited and activities were curtailed. The crew worked night and day to clean everything. By the end of the cruise no new cases were added.

Our penthouse suite was lovely. The stewards were great. We had a butler, Raj, who did anything we needed.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite

Cabin PH2

A beautiful room with a wonderful butler, Raj. Some people say "why should I get a more expensive room since I am hardly ever in it?" Especially on days at sea, it was nice to cozy up in the room to read or watch a movie.

Port Reviews

Buenos Aires

We stayed extra days in BA. It is an interesting place to visit. We stayed in Retiro which was very convenient. Lots to see and great restaurants.

Montevideo

Beautiful city.

Punta Arenas

We got to see a reconstruction of the Nao Victoria used by Magellan ionb his cruise around the worls and the Beagle, used by Charles Darwin. We then went to the Salesian Museum which featured information about the natives and animals of the area. Also interesting.
